Fashion Make-up Artistry Program

With a focus on fashion, the Fashion Make-up Artistry Program prepares the student to work as an entry-level make-up artist for the fashion and cosmetic fields. In this program, you will be introduced to these dynamic fields by taking courses in Beauty Make-up Artistry, Studio Hairstyling and Portfolio Development.

Make-up for HDTV, print photography and the film industry all require that the make-up artists know their craft and be detail oriented. From the basics of corrective make-up to the decorative elements of avant-garde, the beauty course guides you from the most basic elements of make-up to the more complex. Being able to style hair on set is often a must and is increasingly demanded of make-up artists by employers. Whether you are new to hair or a seasoned hair professional, the Studio Hairstyling Course you will learn the hair styling techniques that are required of make-up artists to meet the demands of today’s entertainment and fashion industries. In the Portfolio Development Course you will be introduced to set etiquette, business formalities, resume building, marketing and working in a professional photo shoot environment.

Throughout the program, you will create complete looks by challenging your skill and creativity in a series of real world projects. You will also see your work captured on film during professionally photographed sessions. The Fashion Make-up Artistry Program culminates with a professional photo shoot, in which you will incorporate your skills in make-up and hair styling along with the necessary elements of wardrobe, budgeting, set etiquette and time management.

A Diploma is presented upon completion of this Program.

Duration: This Program meets Monday through Friday and consists of 400 clock hours. Day sessions are ten weeks long, conducted from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Maximum Class Size – 18.
