The Character Make-up Artistry Course teaches character development and the fundamental elements of prosthetic application and special make-up effects.

In the Character Course, you will learn the non-beauty techniques of make-up artistry using traditional make-up as well as new materials and tools such as the airbrush. By incorporating varying techniques of special make-up effects you will create simulated injuries, age make-ups and learn to apply prosthetics, bald caps and facial hair. This course culminates with a photo-shoot that will capture a character of your design and creation.

This course, when taken by an experienced make-up artist, as continuing education, will enhance that artist’s skill level at his/her current level of employment. When taken as part of a program (i.e., with Beauty), this course prepares the student to work as an entry-level film and television make-up artist.

Upon successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Completion is awarded.
